ICYMI: SF Chronicle: “Voter ID supporters drop claims ballot measure would save money, make voting ‘easier’”

Carl DeMaio and the proponents of Prop 39 were dealt a major blow on Thursday when their attorney was forced to accept that the MAGA-driven ballot initiative would not “make voting easier,” includes no privacy protections, and would not, in fact, “save millions of dollars.” Bob Egelko writes in the San Francisco Chronicle:

We’ve been saying all along that Prop 39:

  • Makes voting harder for citizens ✅
  • Exposes California voters to identity theft ✅
  • Will cost California taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars every year ✅

The proponents of Prop 39 were forced to agree.
